A Ritual Object for Clarity, Healing, and Safeguarding
What It Is
The Rue Protection Amulet is a small, hand-assembled bottle designed as a talisman for protection, healing, and spiritual reassurance. Each ingredient and step is chosen with care, drawing on Jewish folk magic, personal research, and intention. The amulet is meant to be hung in your space or kept close, serving as a touchstone for your own protective rituals.
How It’s Made
Each amulet is assembled by hand, layering the chosen stones, herbs, and metals inside a small vessel. All components are blessed and infused with protective intention using traditional prayers and smoke. The vessel is sealed with wax and adorned with symbolic elements, then receives a final blessing before being set aside to rest.
Symbolism & Ingredients
-
Quartz Point with Copper Wire:
At the core is a quartz crystal, wrapped in copper wire. The quartz represents purity, clarity, and divine wisdom. It’s “programmed” and blessed using Psalm 91. The copper wire evokes the copper serpent staff of Moses—a symbol of healing and connection—while also serving to amplify energy and connect all elements.
-
Copper Shreds:
These connect and charge the amulet, acting as a spiritual “red line” and linking to the angel Michael and the rose petals in the kit.
-
Rue Herb:
A classic ingredient in Jewish and Mediterranean folk magic, rue is used for health, wellbeing, and as a powerful ward against the evil eye. It’s also considered a guardian, especially for children.
-
Apache Tears (Obsidian):
A form of obsidian named for the legend of the Apache women’s tears. Obsidian is ancient, protective, and reflective—used for tools, weapons, and mirrors. It’s a stone for insight, clarity, and spiritual shielding.
-
Howlite:
Not traditionally Jewish, but chosen for its joyful, calming, and protective qualities. It serves as a foundation, like marble or a white stone, grounding the amulet in peace.
-
Pine Buds:
Represent breath, rootedness, and community—a connection to the nourishing world.
-
Blue Glass Bead, Embroidery Thread (braided blue, white, black), and Hamsa Charm:
These elements add layers of traditional symbolism—protection (hamsa), spiritual connection (blue/white), and a physical way to hang or carry the amulet.
How to Use
Hang the amulet in your home, workspace, or sacred area. It’s not intended as jewelry (it’s a bit large for that), but can be displayed, carried, or set on an altar. The amulet serves as a daily reminder of your intention, the power of ritual, and the layers of tradition and care woven into every step.
