We take ethics, consent, and client autonomy seriously. Each practitioner working within WayStation One / affiliated spaces agrees to uphold the following standards in all client work, sessions, classes, and communications.

WayStation One services support insight, healing, and personal growth, but they are not a replacement for medical, psychiatric, psychological, or emergency care. These services are intended to work in tandem with, and supportively alongside, allopathic medicine and appropriate psychological or therapeutic care. If you need urgent support, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
Scope & competence: If I do not have the skill level required to provide the help needed, I will refer the client to other qualified professionals.
Confidentiality: I will preserve the client’s right to confidentiality and will not release identifying information verbally or in writing without the client’s written permission.
Limits to confidentiality (informed consent): You should understand that I may be required to disclose information if there is credible risk of self-harm, credible intent to harm another person, suspected child abuse, or if disclosure is required under a lawful court order or other applicable legal obligation. If you have questions about these limits, you are welcome to ask for clarification at any time.
Transparency & fairness: I will provide a reasonable means for evaluating progress so the client is not misled or taken advantage of.
Client autonomy: While I assist each client with personal growth, clients are empowered to make their own decisions. I will not direct a client to take specific actions. When someone is in an acute period of stress, I encourage slowing down and discussing major decisions thoughtfully.
Relationship neutrality: I will not advise a couple to separate or end their relationship; I will support each party in making their own informed decision.
Ongoing growth: I am committed to my own personal and professional growth, continuing education, and ethical practice.
Support network: I will make every effort to connect the client with appropriate supports and services in the community when helpful (qualified practitioners, mentors, group resources, or community services).
Assessment first: I will make every effort to complete an appropriate assessment before initiating treatment or a counselling plan.
Safe, private setting: I will provide a safe and private setting for counselling.
Client-led spirituality: As a spiritual counsellor, I may introduce spiritual concepts and integrate complementary approaches only at the client’s discretion and with consent.
Avoiding harm / false memory risk: I will avoid statements or techniques that may generate false memories, including around sexual abuse.
Risk awareness: I will carefully assess, document, and respond appropriately to risk of suicidal or homicidal behaviour.
Boundaries: I will not give a client false hope that the counselling relationship can be something other than a professional relationship, or that it can be permanent.
Mandatory reporting / duty to protect: I will comply with applicable laws regarding mandatory reporting and duty to protect, including reporting suspected child abuse to the appropriate authorities.
No prophecy claims: I will make every effort to help a client understand patterns and life events; however, I will not claim to “tell the future” or provide guaranteed prophetic predictions.
Here-and-now focus: I will use tarot to help the client engage with their present circumstances and choices, keeping the work grounded in insight, agency, and practical next steps.
Consent for touch: I will not physically touch the client unless requested or consented to by the client. If touch is part of a Reiki session, I will ask permission before initiating physical contact.
Transparency: If the client asks, I will explain what I am doing and what to expect during the session.
Medical care encouraged: I will encourage clients to seek any medical, clinical, or mental health attention required.
No miracle claims: I do not “heal” clients; I facilitate a healing process. I make no promises of instant results and do not engage in “faith healing” claims or guaranteed outcomes.
